CLEANTECH VENTURE DAY
AMSTERDAM
19 March 2026
Cleantech Venture Day Amsterdam 2026 brings together innovators, investors, corporates and city partners to explore the next generation of climate tech solutions built for urban transformation.
Returning to the Dutch capital as part of the Climate Tech SuperCluster series linking London, Paris and Amsterdam, this edition focuses on the shift from Smart Cities to Wise Cities – human-centred, evidence-based districts designed for long-term resilience and livability.
Taking place at Johan Cruijff ArenA, the event spotlights integrated solutions across mobility transition, the built environment and district energy and infrastructure. From circular construction and energy systems integration to walkable, cyclable and shared mobility, the focus is on technologies that can move beyond pilots and into real-world deployment. A selected group of startups will pitch to a curated audience that blends venture capital with corporates, infrastructure players and public-sector stakeholders – creating the conditions for pilots, partnerships and investment to happen faster.
AN ICONIC, PIONEERING VENUE
More than just an Amsterdam landmark, Johan Cruijff ArenA is a sustainability frontrunner and a strong example of how big venues can cut their footprint through practical sustainability and smarter infrastructure. A fitting setting for a Cleantech Venture Day edition focused on Wise Cities and real-world deployment.
The stadium combines proven measures with innovation-led experiments to reduce its footprint, from rooftop solar to large-scale energy storage built from repurposed EV batteries, and smarter use of heat, cooling, water and waste systems. In short, it’s not just where we meet. It’s a real example of the systems-thinking and collaboration needed to build resilient, low-carbon cities.
PITCHING COMPANIES
Applications to pitch are open, and we’ll announce the pitching companies in the weeks ahead. The line-up will be a curated selection of climate tech startups from across the Climate Tech SuperCluster region, building solutions for urban transformation across mobility transition, the built environment and district infrastructure. Check back soon, or follow along on LinkedIn as we reveal the companies joining us on stage.
AGENDA
The agenda is currently being finalised, but expect a fast-paced day built around the Wise Cities theme — bringing together city leaders, investors, corporates and founders to explore what urban transformation looks like in practice. Alongside curated startup pitches, we’ll dive into mobility transition, the built environment and district infrastructure through conversations and sessions designed for real follow-up, partnerships and deployment.
More than just a map
This isn’t just a nice idea on a map. It’s already one of the world’s most powerful climate tech ecosystems.
What you’re looking at is a collection of some of the world’s most prolific climate tech clusters. What’s special is that they’re all reachable within four hours by train from London.
Within this region, you’ll find a critical mass of world-leading universities, ambitious climate investors, deep tech hubs, and some of Europe’s most forward-thinking cities: Cambridge, Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, Antwerp, London, Eindhoven, Charleroi, Oxford. The list goes on.
We don’t believe the world needs another isolated innovation district or local hub. What it does need is a joined-up ecosystem that moves at the speed of the climate crisis.
An ecosystem where founders, researchers, investors, corporates, and governments collaborate across borders to scale solutions that work.
This is the ecosystem we’re building. We call it the Climate Tech SuperCluster.
